NZI Safe Driving Challenge Promotion: 5 & 6 August 2026

Terms and conditions

  1.  The NZI Safe Driving Challenge Promotion (“Promotion”) is conducted by NZI, a business division of IAG New Zealand Limited (“NZI”), NZI Centre, 1 Fanshawe Street, Auckland 1010. The following terms and conditions apply to the Promotion.
  2. By participating in the Promotion, participants agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.
  3. Promotion period: Each of the following is a “Promotion Day” and together they form the “Promotion Period”.

a) Wednesday 5 August 2026, commencing at 9.15am and ending at 2.00 pm (“Promotion Day One”).
b) Thursday 6 August  2026, commencing at 9.15am and ending at 2.00 pm (“Promotion Day Two”).

Eligibility

  1. The Promotion is open to registered participants of the NZI Safe Driving Challenge who complete the challenge located at the NZI stand at the EROAD Fleet Days event on Wednesday 5 August and Thursday 6 August 2026 at Mystery Creek, Hamilton, and who;

a) are a resident of New Zealand;
b) are 18 years of age or over as at Thursday, 6 August 2026; and
c) are not an employee of IAG New Zealand Limited, nor in their immediate families
(“Eligible Participant”).

  1. No purchase is necessary to enter and entry is free of charge.
  2. This Promotion is a game of skill. Winners are determined objectively by their performance measured by the NZI Safe Driving Challenge scoring system where demerit points are applied for sensor-detected unsafe actions (eg. crashes, skipped checkpoints or failure to stop in designated zones). Lower total demerit points will rank higher together with shorter completion times to give the Eligible Participant’s final score.
  3. Eligible Participants may make multiple attempts during the Promotion Period. Only the Eligible Participant’s best valid attempt will count for leaderboard ranking purpose.
  4. Prizes will be awarded to Eligible Participants that rank first, second or third place at the daily cut-off time of 2pm on the relevant Promotion Day as displayed on the NZI Safe Driving Challenge Leaderboard (“Winner”).
  5. In the event of a tie, the Winner will be the tied player who has the lowest number of demerit points between the two tied players as at the daily cut-off time of 2pm on the relevant Promotion Day.
  6. NZI may disqualify any attempt that involves tampering with equipment, bypassing checkpoints, unsafe operation or other conduct that breaches these rules or the directions of NZI.

Prizes

  1. Promotion Day One prizes are: First place $1,000 Prezzy® Card, second place $500 Prezzy® Card, third place $250 Prezzy® Card (“Prize”).
  2. Promotion Day Two prizes are: First place $1,000 Prezzy® Card, second place $500 Prezzy® Card, third place $250 Prezzy® Card (“Prize”).
  3. NZI will not be required to provide any person with a Prize where, in NZI’s sole discretion:

a) that person is not (or is no longer) eligible; or
b) NZI is unable to contact the person to arrange delivery after using reasonable endeavours.

  1. The Prizes will be presented on the day of the event or delivered by courier to an address supplied by the Winner within seven (7) days of the Promotion Period ending (or such later date as is required by NZI).

  3. Prizes are not transferable, not refundable and cannot be exchanged for cash. The Prize must be taken as stated in these terms and conditions and no compensation will be payable if the Winner is unable to use the Prize.
  4. NZI will not be required to provide any person with a Prize where, in NZI’s sole discretion, that person is not (or is no longer) eligible and / or the conditions set out in these terms and conditions have not been met.

General

  1. NZI, at its sole discretion, reserves the right to discontinue, extend or amend the Promotion at any time without notice to any person for any reason. NZI will only do this where it considers it is reasonable to do so.
  2. NZI’s decision on any matter regarding the Promotion will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.
  3. Subject to any obligations under law, such as under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or the Fair Trading Act 1986, NZI and its related bodies corporate will not be liable for any loss, damage or injury suffered or sustained (including but not limited to direct or consequential loss or loss arising from negligence) arising directly or indirectly out of or in connection with the Promotion or any Reward.
  4. NZI takes no responsibility for any misdirected, lost, incomplete, damaged, corrupted, incorrectly submitted, or late entries, or any human error, technical malfunctions, lost or delayed data transmission, computer or network failure, or any other interruption that may affect the conduct of the Promotion.

Privacy

  1. Information collected will be securely held by NZI, 1 Fanshawe Street, Auckland 1010. Each participant accepts and agrees that NZI may use and disclose the participant’s personal information to NZI’s agents or contractors for the purposes of conducting the Promotion and for marketing and promotional purposes. Participants have the right to access and correct their personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 2020 by contacting NZI in writing at 1 Fanshawe Street, Auckland or by calling 0800 80 24 24.
