NZI Defamation Insurance policy

NZI’s Defamation policy insures publishers and broadcasters for liability and defence costs arising in respect of allegations of defamation (libel & slander), as well as infringement of copyright, trademark, design or patent, false attribution of authorship, invasion of privacy or improper disclosure of sensitive private facts arising from material transmitted in the insured medium. 

The policy includes:

• damages that are awarded by a civil court, or negotiated settlements, for unintentional defamatory acts that the insured business or its employees make
• legal costs and expenses of defending claims (these are additional to the amount of damages insured)
• continuous cover
