NZI Associations
NZI’s Association policy insures an association’s (e.g. clubs, charitable trusts – those organisations that do not fall naturally under the Companies Act 2003) officers, officials and trustees (and provides reimbursement to the association entity to the extent that it is lawfully permitted to indemnify them), for liability and defence costs in respect of wrongful acts committed while performing their duties for the association, together with professional indemnity cover for the association itself.
The policy includes:
• damages that a court orders any officer, official, trustee to pay, or negotiated settlements, for wrongful acts
• associations reimbursement
• legal costs and expenses of defending claims
• advancement of defence costs
• amalgamation / merger of entity
• automatic reinstatement of the aggregate limit
• continuous cover
• estates and legal representatives
• extended reporting period
• innocent non-disclosure
• intellectual property
• official investigations
• outside directorships – non profit organisations
• preservation of indemnity
• witness expenses
• professional indemnity cover for the entity (with separate extensions for defamation, loss of documents, dishonesty and fraud, exemplary damages and Fair Trading Act 1986 cover)
Optional cover is also available for:
• current outside directorships (other than non profit organisations)
• employment practices liability for claims your staff could take against the company entity (e.g. discrimination, unfair dismissal or workplace harassment)
• fidelity
