IAG NZ takes out supreme sustainability award
IAG NZ was last night named the Overall Exemplar (Large Business) at the inaugural Sustainable 60 awards in Auckland.
The Sustainable 60 series is a Fairfax Media Business Group and PricewaterhouseCoopers programme designed to uncover New Zealand's most future proof companies. It aims to raise awareness of business sustainability and redefine it as being about much more than just being green.
More than 110 entries were received from 48 companies across five categories: Strategy and Governance, Marketplace, Workplace, Community and Environment. The three Overall Exemplar awards (for Small, Medium or Large business) were chosen from companies who were able to submit entries for all five categories.
IAG NZ triumphed over the Auckland Regional Council, Landcare Research Manaaki Whenua, Northshore City Council, and Westpac to take out the Overall Large Exemplar award.
Speaking on TVNZ’s NZI Business this morning, Ian Foy said he’s is delighted with this recognition.
“We wouldn’t do it if it wasn’t the right thing to do economically and for our customers and the community.
“More and more customers will choose companies with sustainability credentials in the environmental space and the community space,” he said.
